OurKey Privacy Policy

What OurKey does

OurKey helps trusted groups verify a person’s identity with rotating codes. It also provides an optional, consent-based way to submit a message or screenshot to group administrators for a safety review.

Information we collect

• Group information: group name, join code, shared verification secret, and creation time.
• Member information: display name, relationship, avatar color, and an optional phone number.
• Notifications: a device push-notification token when notifications are enabled, so group members can receive verification or safety alerts.
• Safety submissions: only when you turn on safety sharing and submit them yourself. These may include pasted message text, a selected screenshot, a help request, consent information, classification categories, review status, and timestamps.
• Support information: information you choose to include when contacting us for help.

What we do not do

OurKey does not read messages from Roblox, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, or other apps. It does not use keylogging, notification scraping, or covert monitoring. Screenshots and message text leave your device only when you choose to submit them.

How we use information

• To sync trusted groups and member profiles across devices.
• To generate and verify group identity codes.
• To send requested group and safety notifications.
• To provide administrator review of voluntary safety submissions.
• To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support OurKey.

Safety submissions and retention

Safety sharing is off until you turn it on. Submitted content is available to administrators of the related group for review. Safety alerts are scheduled for automatic deletion after 30 days. Group and member information remains while the group is active; contact us if you need help with deletion or correction.

OurKey’s keyword classification is a limited automated signal. It is not a diagnosis, proof, professional advice, or replacement for emergency services or platform moderation.

Sharing and service providers

We share information with members of the relevant OurKey group as needed to provide the features they request, and with administrators when a safety submission is made. We use hosting, database, and notification service providers to operate the service. We do not sell personal information.

Apple processes App Store purchases. OurKey does not collect or store your payment-card number.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for the information handled by OurKey. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so share only information that is appropriate for your trusted group.

Your choices and contact

You can leave safety sharing off, remove saved drafts from your device, and choose whether to grant notification or location permissions. For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or support, contact ourkeysupport@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when OurKey changes. The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect.
